Hello Loring Friends,
This will be our last district lesson pack for this school year and it covers the weeks of June 8th and June 15th. We left all of the lessons in this pack open for all grade levels to explore. We also hope that you will refer to this SUMMER FUN slideshow when you are creating art this summer. I will continue to upload submitted artwork to our Virtual School Art Gallery until Wed, June 17th, so keep sending me that work! We are so proud of what you were able to create and accomplish from home over the past few months. A few art house-keeping reminders: * Students in Grade 5 will receive all their completed art materials that were in the room on their material pick up day at Loring. *Students in Grades K-4 will receive artwork back when we return to school. I hope you all have a wonderful summer. I've missed you all so much and can't wait until we are creating again together! Love, Mrs. Danielson

It's a fun week ahead, exploring animals with your artwork! Take a trip to the zoo, observe and draw baby chicks and check out the All School cartoon animal drawing bonus videos!
I wanted to update you all on the artwork that is still at school. All 5th grade students will be receiving any completed art that was still at school when you pick up all of your other classroom materials. Students in grades K-4 will receive your artwork when we return to school. If we had something fun that we were working on, rest assured we will finish it up first thing when we return! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy the sun and creating about ANIMALS! PS. I was able to go to Loring this week to start organizing and cleaning up the room. I ran into a special friend when I was there who wanted to say hello! :) The art lesson focus this week is on design in all it's many forms! Graphic, landscape, architecture, fashion and product design are all highlighted. Try designing your own logo or architecting your dream room or treehouse! This is definitely a week where you might see more than one project you'd like to try so I encourage you to explore the whole slideshow and find a project that feels exciting to you!
As we get closer closer to the end of school, I'd like to encourage all of you to submit artwork for me to see. Our virtual gallery continues to grow and I'd love to see even more! Keep up the PAWSOME work and remember that being at home provides us with an opportunity to be creative in all sorts of ways. If you try the "ALL SCHOOL" garden design project, maybe it's a drawing or painting-- or maybe you are actually planting a garden at home and would like to share a photo of that! Whichever it is for you, I hope it brings a smile to your face. I miss you all! Love, Mrs. Danielson The weather is getting better and we are spending this week exploring nature in art!
Take the time this week to go through the entire slide show--there might be something in another grade level that interests you. Try your grade level lesson and another if you'd like! There are videos included in a few of the lessons as well. I'd love for you all to try the All School Nature Prompt drawing lesson this week. It's a great way to get outside and appreciate all the beauty of springtime in Massachusetts! Our Loring Virtual Gallery is growing everyday and I continue to be impressed by your creativity! Keep emailing me pictures of your work. I love hearing from you. Enjoy the weather and exploring NATURE! Love, Mrs. Danielson I’m super excited to share with you this week’s lesson pack that is all about 3D art!
Paper sculptures, origami, airplanes and more! This week, there are several instructional videos to help guide you with some of the lessons. It’s a lot of fun -- you might want to try them all! This past week I received an amazing amount of student art. Keep it coming and continue to check out our Virtual Gallery. It's really coming together! You can be a part of it too!! As a reminder, the only way for me to see your work is for a grown up at home to email it to me directly. I am including all artwork that is submitted in the virtual gallery, so if you do not want your piece included, please note that in your email. I miss you all very much and I want you to know how proud I am of the work you have created during this time. Have fun this week, creating in 3D! Love, Mrs. Danielson Art Office Hours: Tues/Thurs 10:00-11:00am Email: [email protected] Welcome to another week of art making!
This week our art focus is all about observation-the art of seeing. Learning how to observe in art is a very important skill for you to have. By making observations, we learn about the world around us. Our observations help us to answer questions and make predictions about how things look. This type of investigation ultimately leads to beautiful artwork! When we look at something with the intent of drawing it, we tend to look more carefully than usual. We see, truly see, the shapes, the patterns, the colors, the shadows, the lines, and how all of these details interact. We have so many fun projects for each grade level this week--from drawing shadows to drawing your breakfast!? For my 3rd grade friends, this week was my turn to share a live video art lesson. This can be found on the 3rd grade slide (with a cameo appearance by our dwarf hamster, Cicso) This would have been our next large project at school so I am thrilled to be able to share it with you in this way. So many students emailed me with artwork last week--it was wonderful! Please keep sending me pictures of your work so I can include them in the Virtual Loring Art Gallery I have made.. You can be a part of it too!! Click the link below to check it out! I know we are all adjusting to new routines. Art is a wonderful way to relax and change the pace of your day. For my own art, I plan to carefully observe and draw the beautiful tulips I picked with my kids this week. (See the picture below--look closely at the beautiful colors!) What types of things will you observe? Give your grade lesson level a try and show me what you SEE! Love, Mrs. Danielson Art office hours: Tues/Thurs 10:00-11:00am Email: [email protected] Hello Loring Friends! Our district lessons this week are all about the art element of LINE. There is a lot to explore in the slideshow. If you ever have a question about your grade level project--or any project you'd like to do, please don't hesitate to reach out. We have started to add some live demonstration videos to the slideshow and this week you will see my friend Mr. C from the Noyes school doing a super fun 4th grade project from his home.
I was so excited to look at all your amazing artwork this past week. You were incredibly creative with your materials & ideas! I have started to put together a virtual gallery of submitted work and I hope to share it with you all soon! Please remember that the best way for me to see and comment on your art is by having a grown up at home email it to me. It makes my day to see your beautiful work so please keep the photos coming! I've had some questions about artwork that we were working on in class before school closings occurred. Rest assured that everything is safe and sound and we will finish our projects as soon as we can in the fall! If you were on the schedule to be a Featured Artist during an upcoming community celebration, we will find ways to share that artwork when we are back at school. I miss you all so much and can't wait until we are back together again. ~ Mrs. Danielson This week for your Art at Home lessons, we will explore how TEXTURE plays a role in art and the world around us! Please read through the slides carefully and find your grade level activity. If you see another lesson that interests you, try that one as well! We will be adding bonus activities each week at the end of the slide slow as well. Note about submitting work: Please remember that I can only see your work if you or a grown up emails it to me. While it is not required for you to send me your work, I love getting these emails each week -- so keep sending them along! I thought you might like to see a picture of our two dwarf hamsters. Their names are Cisco and Jetties. Look at the TEXTURE of their fur! They are super SOFT and FLUFFY! TEXTURE IS ALL AROUND US! Have fun this week and be creative! I miss you :)
